When the Gods ruled the world, there was peace. Occasionally they fought off a band of rebels or monsters. But mostly, there was peace. Then the Gods died, shriveling away. They ruled as singleminded beings, so the humans left. They traveled to caves under the mountains. Eventually, the Gods traveled to another world, far away. And men claimed the world, building towns, cities, nations!
