Tostien assassinated without an heir.

Tostien is assassinated, childless.   Minerva, a work-centered woman, is hurriedly married to Estion Yulias Sheyla, a Julianite.   Until she has a son, the crown passes to Regulos, the 42-year-old grandson of Vivara. This displeases the Triam, since he’s two generations outside the bridal cycle. Regulos is assassinated before he can take the crown (may or may not be related to the previous sentence).   Estion is assassinated, and a pregnant Minerva is spirited away by [REDACTED].   Nikolas is suggested for the crown, but is disqualified due to being born out of wedlock.   People from all around come to claim the right to secession… many of whom meet untimely deaths by at least one of the three Houses.
