The Pillar of the Queen

A free-floating pillar of smoky marble that appears to be infinitely tall, despite the pillar having a definitive height. It's surface is inscribed with a chiselled text that spirals upwards along the shaft. No one has been able to read more than the beginning parts of this text, but it seems to be telling some kind of epic story - presumably a never-ending tale. Beneath the floating pillar is a well of crystal clear water where you cannot see the bottom as it is beyond a slow moving murky grey cloud about 20ft down. Nobody knows what is beneath this cloud as anyone attempting to get close to the well is blocked by a squad of guards stationed there 24/7 colloquially named "The Pillar Guard". The Pillar of the Queen is the tallest structure in Iten Vale rivalling even the kings castle and easily cruising over 200ft tall.

Purpose / Function

Built by acolytes of the Raven Queen upon an avatar of the Raven Queen appearing and giving her blessing to the recently born daughter of King Helmec Spirit-vain. Intended as a gift to the Raven Queen and a birthday gift to the newly blessed princess Dawn. The well beneath the pillar serves as an altar to the Raven Queen for clergy and the water has often been used in rituals for the queen. Princess Dawn Spirit-vain was also baptized here after her return from training in the Kingdom of Bhruvain to signify her allegiance to the Raven Queen and her country

Alterations

Minor alterations were made to the square the pillar resides in but nothing about the pillar or its well have been changed or altered in any way since their construction.

Architecture

A simple rectangular pillar with rounded ends. The chiseled text is written in celestial and slowly shimmers. The pillar is slightly translucent and a dull dark core runs through the pillar's length pulsating.
