The Dohegon

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Dohegon is a large, reptilian-like, canine, dragon thing. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, though most are quite large. The average height being 5'3" at the shoulder. Dohegon can mate and reproduce with just about any quad-pedal creature as long as the size is equal to the Dohegon. Dohegon usually only mate with canine creatures, but it is possible to for them to reproduce with felines- though it is very rare. Dohegon are quad-pedal and have very long tails. Depending on the environment, Dohegon can be burly with muscle, lithe, have aquatic features, fur or scales. They can also have different shapes and sizes of horns on their head that can also go all the way down their spine or protrude from other limbs.

Genetics and Reproduction

Dohegon can mate with just about any organism of the similar size. Dohegon are also non-binary; they do not have a set gender, though they can switch between both. All Dohegon have both male and female reproductive organs. They are fertile and can be fertilized themselves, though pride usually gets in the way of that option.   MALE-PRESENTING: Male-presenting Dogehon who stay male all their lives will eventually, at or during maturity, will develop a second penis, which grows a little lower a and is a bit smaller than their original one. This penis is for the fertilization of eggs while reproducing. Female-presenting or other Dohegon can only be impregnated by this penis.   FEMALE-PRESENTING: Female-presenting Dohegon during or at the time of their maturity will eventually lose their first penis. It detaches from the body painlessly and with it, the decay of its male reproductive organs. After this event, there is no way for the Dohegon to regain its male genes and will stay female forever.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dohegon grow very fast and reach their age of maturity around 5 years of age. Depending on their gene pool, whether they are purebred or mixed, this can change and alter their growth pattern. Throughout its life, a Dohegon will grow and take on traits and characteristics that its parents passed on, while also quickly adapting to the environment in which it is living.

Ecology and Habitats

There is no "true" habitat of the Dohegon, as they can adapt to any environment.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Dohegon are mostly carnivorous beasts. They eat a variety of meat and rarely anything plant related, even if one of their parents is a herbivore.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Dohegon have exceptional senses. On average, their hearing can go up to 900kHz. The longer one lives and perfects its skills, the higher that number will go. Their sight is just as extraordinary; they can see in a 15 mile radius from their front and peripheral view. With no pupils, the average is miles; but, when they focus and shrink their pupil, that number shoots up drastically to 80 miles in front, in a tunnel vision. They can zoom and enhance this vision at will. One other unique thing about their sight is that they can only see in thermal or infrared. With their incredible zooming capabilities, this can allow them to see any heat signature in an 80 mile radius. Their sense of smell is just as incredible, as it allows them track a creature from miles away.   Some Dohegon, when bred with other organisms, can develop breath weapons; i.e fire, frost, poison gas ect. Some can also have wings, or wing-like extremities. Others can have psychic powers, though this is very rare. The limit to what a Dohegon can be is close to nothing.
Genetic Ancestor(s)
Origin/Ancestry
Created by Lucifer, bred with wolves and Hell Hounds to create Wolhegons. They can also breed with other creatures of the same size and stature to create a mix of Dohegon and other organisms. These are still referred to as Dohegon.
Conservation Status
This species is at the top of the food chain and can consume almost anything anything.
