The Great War
Blood splashed everywhere. There was nowhere to hide. On one side archers shot arrows that rained down on you like hailstones, elves on hexequine-back ran past at tremendous speed and magi attacked you with flaming balls of pure death magic. On the other dwarfs manned catapults and cannons ready to send rocks and cannonballs hurtling through the air as well as spearmen who were primed for battle.
The Conflict
Prelude
233 years after the separation of Mundomirum, on the 6th of Zenos, war was declared. growing tensions between the drastically different ways of dwarfs and elves turned into to deadly bloodshed.
Deployment
17 days later the elves started advancing on the dwarfs. The magi, who do not need much (if any) equipment were the first to attack. The unready dwarfs did their best to withhold the magi but not much could be done until reinforcements arrived.
Battlefield
After creating haphazard bridges across the Great Rift the Dwarf fought in Koboldia. Though they supposed they had an advantage, they succumbed to the powerful magic of the elven kingdom.
Conditions
They fought day and night, though sun and rain. The forts, though happy, we dirty places and over a quarter of soldiers die of disease.
The Engagement
Though the war lasted two and a half millennia there were only seventeen major battles. Most of these were fought from either side of the ridge as most attacks were ranged.
Outcome
The food supplies were low as were the medicine and water. It took only 3 months however for a united Mundomirum to gain this loss back.
Aftermath
The populations of both countries had decreased by over a third and it took many years to get back to its former glory.
