Imperial Tolméhrian Air Service

The Imperial Tolméhrian Air Service is the air force of the Tolméhrian Empire. It both serves to destroy the enemy in and from the air, and also provides long-distance aerial transport for Imperial Army units.

The Imperial Air Service has a vast array of aircraft of many different types and purposes at its disposal, such as interceptors, ground-attack aircraft, long-range bombers and troop transport aircraft. A few notable examples are listed below:

History

Air power had been a major factor in the city-state of Tolunvoeroh's victory during the civil war that followed the Great Sundering. While most other factions used air forces simply in support of their ground units for attacking enemy troops and scouting missions, the soon-to-be Tolméhrians understood the potential of achieving air supremacy, and came out on top of their enemies by destroying their infrastructure and industry via strategic bombing, crippling supply chains and preventing them from replacing their material losses, being able to decimate whole armies on the march with strike aircraft, and using aircraft to deploy troops quickly over long distances, landing airborne commandos deep behind enemy lines. Thus air power had been recognised early on as an important point of interest by Tolméhrian Imperial Staff. The Imperial Air Service was founded as its own separate branch at the creation of the Tolméhrian Empire, and would receive a sizeable portion of attention from the Tolméhrian war industry. It would later see action in the Tolméhrian Empire's many wars against its neighbours, and would also prove vital in its exploration and colonisation efforts of overseas landmasses.
