Pleaders Bay

The Beauty Between the Capes

Pleaders Bay is an old mining village and fishing harbor 91/2 hours away from Parrs Harbor. The village has little in commodities, barely scraping by for taxes, and most work goes towards feeding the village as opposed to business. The town is low on residents, most with leaving the first chance they get or dying off.

History

In the year 908 NE, The Morris clan decided to Move West from the Parrs Harbor region, in search of gold they had believed to see along the cliffs while sailing into the region. Foraging through the forest, and establishing the beginning of the lone path to Pleaders Bay, the Morris clan, led by the eldest brother Thakkeal, eventually came to a large natural field that overlooked a small cove. Deciding to settle in the space, They began to construct some simple houses to fend against the weather, and started to make expeditions across the nearby mountain, eventually reaching Advocate’s Cape, and establishing their mine.   While no gold was found, the Morris clan were able to properly establish a copper cave and were able to build a small port and bring in several people to act as aids and workers for them, with the settlement eventually growing big enough to be recognized as a village. In 1084, the Parr Family sent one of their cousins to oversee the village as their representative, granting them the title Official. Over the generations, this family has wed with locals and still acts in this position to this day.   During these times, all imports and exports of the town were managed through sailing, with a local fisherman taking supplies to Partridge Island to trade with people of Parrs Harbor, or with merchants sailing into the bay to establish a small market.   The people eventually built up dykes, and established farms, but over the many years, its populace has died off, leaving a small population, with a lot of land. In 1206 NE, the mines were shut down due to several reasons, including flooding, dropping copper prices, and that more conglomerate was mixed with the copper making further mining too difficult. Rumors state that there were also deaths within the cave, and the mine has been labeled as haunted ever since.

Government

Pleaders Bay is maintained by the Knowlton Family, appointed by Governor family Parr. The official serves as a judge and mediator and appoints people to help him maintain the village and reports back to Governor Parr.

Description

Pleaders Bay is a coastal village situated along the Northern Fendu Bay region, that offers little to appeal to outsiders other than its stunning views and intricate landscape. Accessible only by boat and an unmaintained trail through the woods, the settlement rarely interacts with the rest of the territory, relying on monthly visits by a merchant ship to barter for supplies.

Due to the abandonment of the shafts, the fear of divine retribution, and the lack of a priest capable of laying undead to rest, the cave has become populated with undead, cementing its belief of being haunted.
