Personal history

Arpeggio was always quite the poet, even from a young age. Living in a small village nearby a great city, his people would perform deals and trades with merchants and offer an escort to nobles out hunting from time to time. It was during one of these hunting trips, that Arpeggio would catch the attention of the young master of the Kanthrosean Margrave family.   Being appeased by Arpeggio's quick poetic quips and real-time transcription of their hunting trip, the young master, Rufus Kanthrosean, proposed for Arpeggio to follow him back to his estate, and be trained as a proper minstrel, learning under the tutelage of the head private minstrel, and being sponsored to master the art by the household. Over time, he earned the approval of the private minstrel, earning the surname Von Cappella, and was inducted into the Lorian College of Music and Fine Arts, where he would continue to hone and perfect his skills. He eventually completed his studies 8 years later and would continue working under the Kanthrosean's until the death of his friend Rufus.   Following Rufus's passing, Arpeggio found himself free from the Kanthrosean's control, not that he had lived a mistreated life, but his tenure with them had come to an end. Unsure of what to do with the rest of his extensive life, Arpeggio headed to the capital, seeking temporary employment from the local nobility, often playing at gatherings, and from time to time, performing concerts at the local opera house. Work was easy to come by, thanks to the reputation he had garnered while in the employment of Rufus and his father, and he was able to spend a good century traveling between capitals and kingdoms, building his fame throughout the lands, and assuring his lifestyle was comfortable.   Eventually, however, Arpeggio came to a bottleneck. While he could still turn out amazing pieces on any topic he heard, he felt that he wasn't improving, and received his own material as stale and uninspired, though many would not notice. Deciding he needed to change, he set out to create a grand concerto, that none would ever be able to top in their lifetimes, something that could keep devils still, and make angels weep! Something, that would put him in the eyes of even the most powerful deities of poetry and music, and cement him as the muse of Vaupane! And so, he set out to create his magnum opus.   At first, Arpeggio continued to perform at high-end establishments, but soon came to realize that such locations were providing him with nothing to help him achieve his goal, and thus he turned to Adventuring, for he determined that if listening to others could not help him envision his grant art, then taking matters into his own hands would! Thus Arpeggio set out as an adventurer to seek a story worthy of poetry and song and would be remembered for generations after his inevitable demise.   During his early adventures, Arpeggio discovered a young band of adventurers who caught his interest. Within the band was a bard named Vivace, who convinced Arpeggio to train her. Deciding to stick with the party long term, in part for his apprentice, and in part for his own goals in relation to his magnum opus, Arpeggio, and the party would travel around, gaining fame, experience, and perfecting their combat skills, until one day a young elf from Arpeggio's hometown found him and brought him some terrible news. While traveling, a small-scale devil invasion had struck his hometown. Few survivors remained, and his parents and younger brother had been slain in the chaos.   Seeing the dire situation, Arpeggio sought to return home and help, with his apprentice and party joining him. By the time they arrived, most of the devils had been fought back into the foods, and with the help of the party, were pushed back into the underworld, and the portal was destroyed, but not before one of Arpeggio's party members overheard a ploy to open more portals across the continent.   Feeling desperate for atonement, and the weight of such knowledge, Arpeggio agreed with the party to take up a quest to close the gates and removed any devils in disguise who would manipulate the continent into falling to the upcoming devil's onslaught. Through trials and tribulations, Arpeggio and his associates gained more fame, and easily fought back the devils, clone gate after gate, and earning the party name, "The Devil's Rout." Eventually, they were able to come to the last gate, and deciding it was in their best interest to weaken the Arch Devil involved in these incidents, they crossed the portal and set their sights on the throne of Adrammelech.   The battle was successful, with the parties paladin taking Adrammelech's left hand, and the parties warlock breaking off Adrammelech's right horn. With Adrammelech successfully weakened, the party was able to retreat to the and prepare to close it. Unfortunately during this time, one of Adrammelech's servants was able to land a fatal blow upon Vivace. Holding her dying body in his hands, Arpeggio told her that they had succeeded and that she had been a great bard, and bestowed her the title Vivace Von Cappella, before she closed her eyes for good. Leaving her body behind, Arpeggio and The Devil's Rout fled from the underworld, and successfully closed the portal, preventing the devils from entering the mortal realm of Muncaelo for the foreseeable future.   Following these events, Arpeggio retired from teh adventuring lifestyle, and wrote his most famous piece, "Adrammelech's Subversion."

Education

Arpeggio was initially trained under the tutelage of Pianissimo Von Cappella, earning the surname Von Cappella upon achieving great results within the field in the eyes of Pianissimo. Following this recognition from Pianissimo and the head of the Kanthrosean House, he was sponsored to earn his master's in the field, and registered to the Lorian College of Music and Fine Arts, completing the seemingly quick 8 years of schooling, and graduating tp of his class with honors.

Employment

During his years of training, Arpeggio was under the employment of the Kanthrosean House, performing for the residents of the estate, as well as at parties they hosted, and for guests from time to time. Following his graduation from the Lorian College of Music and Fine Arts, Arpeggio would continue to be employed by the Kanthrosean House, until the death of Rufus 5o years after their meeting. During this time, he would sometimes be loaned out by the family to partake and perform at higher-class events for other nobles, even performing at the ceremony of the king's birthday a couple of times.   Following this, Arpeggio became freelance, having finished his tenure with the Kanthrosean House, and would travel between noble houses, performing for pay and temporary residence, as he attempted to create his magnum opus. During these years, he temporarily became an adventurer, joining with a party of promising youths, and eventually partaking in a fight against the Arch Devil Adrammelech, partaking on an adventurer to slay many disguised devils across the continent, sealing multiple gates to the underworld, and eventually confronting Adrammelech upon his throne in his own domain, where the took his right arm and left horn as a reward, leaving him half dead and closing the final portal.   These days, Arpeggio traverses the continent, performing at grand stadiums, high-end festivals, and noble banquets, listening for tales he can use to further his music and fame.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Arpeggio has performed many great feats, including the besting of an Arch Demon, the completion of his magnum opus, and a rise to fame through the recounting of many great adventurers' tales. Additionally, he has trained 3 apprentices, and granted each of them his title; Rhapsody Von Cappella, Soprano Von Cappella, and Vivace Von Cappella.

Failures & Embarrassments

Arpeggio has faced much loss over his lifetime, Starting with his friend Rufus, he was unable to return to the Kanthrosean estate in time to be there for his long-time friend. This failure to meet with his friend changed Arpeggio, as he started to become more punctual, and it was reflected in his music for a time, where the notes became sharper, and the tempo more precise. laster on, his home village was invaded and destroyed by Devils in disguise, which lead to him and his fellow adventurers starting their quest to slay the Arch Demon Adrammelech. During this time, his disciple, and fellow adventurer Vivace died at the hands of one of the Arch Demons servants and earned her title as a Von Cappella during his last moments of life.

Mental Trauma

The loss of his friend, disciple, and home has caused plenty of trauma over Arpelligo's long life, and this trauma is manifested and played out in his music, often creating hauntingly beautiful, acoustically sorrowful, and ragingly precise segments in his performances and pieces.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

At this point in Arpeggio's life, he has deduced that music is his life, and while he has made his accomplishments, he still travels, listening to the continent's stories, and crafting newer and amazing tunes. He is motivated to continue in place of his dead disciples, and his dead friend Rufus, as well as to help solidify the histories of those that came before him, with only one of his original party members being alive to continue hearing his works.

Wealth & Financial state

Arpeggio could be considered High upper class in terms of his net worth and average income brought by his performances, however, he usually donates large sums of his money to the Loremaster Society and the Lorian Colledge of Music and Fine Arts, retaining enough to continue his lifestyle.   Arpeggio has no land wealth and carries a bag of holding full of gold, living in upper-class inns, traveling, taking rests at noble estates, and performing at grand stadiums.

Nice read. He has a rich history and it is interesting that he decided to go on adventures to gain new inspiration. I like how he managed to also make his best piece after all that.   As for the layout since you use the standard sections you are sometimes repeating certain things. You could perhaps make your own ones or not use the other ones to avoid that :)

Nice character, he's led an interesting life :D Did his adventures and travelling inspired him in over ways beyond the subject of his final magnus opus? Adn what did the people around him think when they heard he wanted to become an adventurer?

Some great questions I have admittedly not had the time to think through, I'm currently not sure what others think, other than nobles using him as a show of wealth at this point. As for his inspirations, as his creativity is primarily music, I'd say no, but his personality and outlook on life would definitely have evolved during the process!
