Multiverse
The year is 3018. 76 years ago, a few humans escaped the crumbling mess of Earth they created and, travelling through space, discovered that they were not alone in the Multiverse. Other sentient species exist! And they know all about humans; in fact, humans are a running joke, made fun of for their recklessness, ignorance, and stupidity, and somewhat begrudgingly respected for their sheer will to survive; hence their nickname, Space Orcs. The few humans reproduce and spread across the galaxy, ashamed of their weak air-breathing stupidity but glad to spread things like Netflix, dub-step, and overalls to the rest of the Multiverse, where they confuse, excite, and horrify everyone else. Humans are weird.
A Scholar from the planet Tallis defies his genetically-engineered duty and goes rogue, hijacking a spaceship and escaping into outer space. However, his ship is soon damaged in an asteroid field, forcing him to land on the giant metropolitan planet Oskeula. There, he meets a human scrapper, Esho, who lives in The Draft, the planet's artificial oxygen-atmospheric slums. It's a junkyard filled with trash and the scrappers who live off it, and full of crime rings who exploit those scrappers. Esho is a scrapper and a mechanic, and after giving the nameless alien a name, Jericho, agrees to fix his ship. The unlikely pair, plus an AI and a ridiculously dangerous adopted "cat," run from fake insurance salesmen and a vicious hive of genetically engineered soldiers while finding adventure, new connections, and the last coffee-shop in the galaxy. Will these nerds survive long enough to find out the answers to the Multiverse's questions? Or will they die in the many, many electrical fires their piece of crap ship has every day? Probably the latter.
