The Line of Benmark

In the construction of Portland Benmark the Voyager had discovered the land that is known as Green Land upon looking at its beauty. The gleaming stream the vast meadows and the bay he new this land would serve his family well an so he found as many folk to bring back as many men an family's he could find to break ground on the very soil that we know to be Portland now.
It didn't take long to realize this land was blessed by the gods. For within the harbor that they docked their ships was filled with fish of gigantic proportion. The cliff side of the bay is a salt mine, and the fields and surrounding meadows are fertile lands. Soon they had more then enough food and began trading the surplus for swords and armor made famously by the dwarves, Bows and powerful magics created by the elves to the north of their land. Their people became wealthy and found many such folk who would trade goods for the food and treasures of the Green lands that they could bring them. Their Trading ship traveled the far reaches of the world and their people grew.
Benmark realized that with such a valuable land walls must be built defenses must be put in place to protect what they had found no sooner that they got their foothold giants came down from the mountains.
This Giant Raid almost wiped out the first men of Portland if it were not for the critical strike of dwarves that lived in the mountains beyond the fields and the Elves of the salt wood Surly the line of Benmark would have fallen.
With Benmarks new found allies they found a way to drive the Giants from the Green Lands. However on his way into excile across the sea to a land unknown to civilized society the chieftain of the giants has said the day Benmark line can no longer defend this land we shall return to reclaim what is ours.
