Database of Life on Mudewei

The Database of Life on Mudewei is a collection of data maintained by the Protectors of Life which chronicles all manner of life known to Stenza which are native to Mudewei. The database is maintained for the purposes of ecological study and conservation, projects of great concern to the Protectors of Life, and has been used to calculate important metrics like how much food a clan needs to survive for the year and how to most efficiently meet that end.
It is also used to monitor ecological keystone species, keep track of potential damage done by mining operations, and monitor diseases in populations, particularly of Stenza prey animals. Furthermore, much of the data is archival, and contains records of species that have since been out-competed and gone extinct.

Purpose

The purpose of the database is to collect data on as many Mudeweian species as possible for study and analysis.

Document Structure

Clauses

Species files are organized by tree of life, then by branches in a manner similar to the phylogenetic trees developed by scientists on Earth. Analysis of genetic material allows for highly exact categorizations wherever possible.

Publication Status

The database is primarily accessible to biologists, epidemiologists, environmental scientists, and other similar scientists, as well as most members of the Protectors of Life.
