Mu

"The eigth continent, the ancient land at the end of the world."

Geography

The continent of Mu consists of two subcontinents, which are actually on different tectonic plates. These two subcontinents are called Magellania and Cipangu. They reach across the entire Pacific Ocean between Asia and America, reaching from the Bering Sea to New Zealand. At the centre, at the equator they almost touch each other, yet there is a small yet important strait which separates them from each other.

Fauna & Flora

The flora and fauna of Mu is unique. While Cipangu carries a lot of similarity to Eurasia and is part of the Holarctic floral and faunal regions, Magellania constitutes a zone on its own. As it has been separated from the rest of the world since the Mesozoic, the plants and animals are stranger often than on the equally isolated australian continent.
