The Crater

The land of the mountains is dotted with craters, often in association with the ruins of ancient settlements. This crater doesn't have a name. While it's one of the biggest craters around, it isn't particularly special to the naked eye. Anyone who goes near it knows not to go back. Something went wrong here. Very wrong.

Architecture

A crater in the ground fifty miles in diameter. Like some angered god reached down and scooped out the earth in a perfect sphere. The surface is charred black, even however many centuries later.

History

No one knows where it came from or why, just like no one knows where any of the craters came from.

It's not super detailed yet, but I must say, "Anyone who goes near it knows not to go back. Something went wrong here. Very wrong" sent chills down my spine.

Thank you! I've been waffling back and forth on whether or not I want to make these articles spoiler-free, which is why it's so sparse at the moment. In the story's modern setting, literally 1 being knows anything about where these craters came from, and even she doesn't know exactly what happened, she put it together from intuition a few years (decades, centuries) after the fact. Figuring out the consequences of what happened is one of the biggest plot arcs of the story itself; I'm still trying to figure out how much of a secret to keep it.

That's really cool, I likes.

This most certainly needs a bit more work but you are on to a nice start - good concept! I'd love to see it grow
