Dragons

Dragons are a race of nonsentient creatures in Mother's land. They range from only a few inches nostril to tail up to about four feet long.
Dragons are voracious eaters of magic, and large magic deposits tend to draw them. A draconic digestive tract converts this magic into a venom they use to defend themselves, usually by vomiting it onto whatever they feel threatens them.
Draconic venom in smaller species tends to be only a minor irritant to sentient species, but larger dragons can be strong enough to make a person seriously ill or even kill them. Because of this, large dragons (about three feet and up) tend to be hunted for safety's sake.
Draconic venom is a strong base, so small amounts of it are sometimes used for fertilizer, cleaner, and various other chemical use. The smell is unpleasant, though, so the odor is covered up by other things.
