Bloodbreath, King of the Cauldron

Scourge of the Seas, Dwarfsbane, Hullbreaker, the Black Bull, the King of the Cauldron. These are all monikers bestowed upon "Bloodbreath", the most renowned pirate in the history of Morgrave. He is attributed with over 15 naval victories and countless raids on merchant vessels and port cities. To what does he owe his success? There are as many explanations as there are fleas in a Blackwater Cove whorehouse: some say he made a deal with the Traitor, giving him superhuman strength and safe passage from the usual terrors of Morgrave's oceans; some say the amulet he always wears around his neck is magical and it allows him to see the every ship in the ocean, which is what gives him his incredible success when ambushing; some are more pragmatic and attribute it simple to a life at sea and a mind for tactics and logistics. The truth? Pray you never learn it, because Bloodbreath is the only who knows it, and one thing everyone can agree on is that you don't want to be face to face with the Black Bull himself.

Early Life

Not much is known about the early life of Bloodbreath. His true name may be Rodokeras, which is what he went by before he earned his "nom du guerre", although it is possible he invented that name, as many pirates do, to prevent punishment to his family if he was ever caught. His accent betrays him as a native of southern Lustria, but no one knows exactly where. By all accounts, Bloodbreath arrived in Blackwater Cove, the biggest hive of scum and villainy in Morgrave, when he was still very young. He joined the crew of captain Keraunos, another minotaur, when he arrived. Soon he was put in charge of his own sloop and the fleet grew in infamy, in large part thanks to Bloodbreath.

His Own Fleet

Within a few years "Bloodbreath" was a name known throughout the Cauldron - Rodokeras had earned this name for supposedly drinking the blood of his victims. This was never proven, but Bloodbreath certainly never made any effort to dispel the rumors. The pirates of Keraunos' crew started looking more and more to Bloodbreath as a leader - his ship was always the first in the fight and had the most success.   With the backing of many of Keraunos' crew, Bloodbreath led a mutiny, taking many of his former captain's ships and crew with him. Today, Bloodbreath has a more terrifying reputation than ever. He makes excellent use of liquid fire, high speed ramming attacks, and he is allegedly a monster in hand-to-hand combat. The Krachi merchants guild has an enormous bounty on his head, but no pirate hunters or navy has ever been able to claim it. But word on the waterways is that his old captain is rebuilding his fleet to take his revenge on Bloodbreath...
