Clan Ash- Nott

Nara Ashnott was the first of 13 bastard children born to Wyre Nott, the Clan leader when he was stationed at Evergreen City. She went by the surname Ash for most of her childhood, a common bastard name at the time. When she was 17 Blackblood found Nara and told her she was rightfully the firstborn Nott of her generation, and therefore would be a perfect candidate for his reformed Order of the Nine. Nara was of Ancient blood see, but Mordrid admired that she hadn't grown up spoiled. To a newly formed Order, it would help to not have many wanting to lead.  Blackblood himself didn't want that position however, he believed it belonged to Astrid Slyth, the only descendant of the original Order. He founded the order to fight against the humans who were attempting to take over Helifae and Gaelin. They had already driven many fae folk into extinction or hiding, causing the balance in Gaeven to go haywire leaving room for Chaos to take hold of the realm once again. The Order fought hard to drive the Order of Man from Helifae, while the Rih fought them in Gaelin. The Rih was successful but the order was not, as they were fighting an enemy too strong with an army too large. Humans had the advantage in Helifae, only having to cross the forests to northern Alras, but Gaelin was separated by two mountain ranges and a desert, or a great ocean. The rih won their battle but they were too tired to aid the Order, so they retreated for a century to heal. Five of the mortals of the Order dead, the remainder fought the humans back to the River which once separated their nations, and Nara sacrificed herself as Nathuria once did to return the magical border.    After some time, Blackblood, Sparrow, and Slyth traveled the realm and told Nara's half-siblings of their new legacy. In union, they created the Ashnott Clan and would go on to fight against their Nott relatives who sided with the Humans in Alras.    By the time Aryumn was born, it was the tradition for Ashnotts to become wards of well off households in Pahlin until they made a name for themselves. Maria Ashnott, the youngest daughter of the merchant Ruion, took wardship under the House of Herbs in Oldwood.    She like Aryumn Herbs wanted to be an artist, a poet. They would spend long hours writing in the library and showing each other their creations. Sometimes Aryumn's fiance Belta Vaxious would stop by though she would get bored easily and move on to hang out with friends. They would laugh about her cluelessness to their sacred craft and return to the ancient books to find inspiration.    Years later Aryumn and Belta took their positions as the lords of Oldwood, while Maria went to the University of Allant to continue her studies. She was beginning to make a name for herself when Aryumn showed up for the comfort of his old friend, Oldwood was beginning to fall apart and Belta hadn't had heirs yet. Thinking this was her chance, she offered to have a child with him, who Belta could pass as her own.    Belta took the idea in stride, though in secret tried harder to have her own child with Aryumn. When Maria gave birth to her son, Arabella Sparrow appeared to give the child his words. Herbs was ecstatic, his son worthy enough to have Raven's Words, but once they were spoken he sulked off in horror. His wife was with a child anyway, and this boy was too dangerous to be his first son.    Maria and her babe were kicked out the next day, clutching him in her arms as she was flung onto the dirty streets. Her skills practically useless in Oldwood, and with no way to return to Alras she scraped by.    Aryumn Ashnott was cunning, he had a way with words that envied the most brilliant poets. Like his mother, he sought after love to no prevail. His community feared his Raven's words, and no man would let their daughter go near him. He was still a charmer, a local at the brothel, and could weasel his way into small jobs. At 14 he wrote his grandfather for a chance to apprentice under him and was granted it for six months, though would win month after month in addition.    While with Ruion, who was an Alanta or trader of Fine Goods, he would travel all over Pahlin and gain a greater understanding of the world as a whole. He was great with customers, and had a personality that would attract buyers back to fill Ruion's pockets in gold and precious stones. When it came time for Aryumn to return home and hope to join the university of Allant for study, Ruion asked his grandson to stay on as his official apprentice. Knowing what the impractical knowledge his mother had learned while at Allant, and not wanting to make the same mistake, Aryumn chose to stay on.    When Ruion died two years later, Aryumn took over the business and set up an office in Oxglen.   The city of Oxglen was built atop the gentle hills which paled in comparison to the enormous mountains that made up the border with Alras and Halifae in the skyline. Its elegance was matched by the warm spring’s waters which started the rivers Thalenia, Rhodisa, Liliope, Aia, Morella, and Mystis. The skyline was littered with modest skyscrapers formed by the Rih’s magic, carrying architectural aspects from the present, past, and future. The city was built to be timeless, a safe haven for the next great years of Elven. Trade attracted all types of people to Oxglen. Various cultures from the five nations had left their mark on the city by the time Aryum was born.    It was his hope to bring Oldwood to power with the help of his Trading business. Attracting his wealthy customers from Oxglen to the city of his birth, bringing it and his mother out of poverty.
