The Rustshroom is notable in that it primarily consumes various iron oxide compounds found in stone and soil. The fungus secretes a thin mucus membrane that accelerates oxidisation, pre-digesting the iron for consumption. Naturally, the Rustshroom is found in northern forests and mountains, though it has a problematic tendency to grow on exposed metal sections of buildings and vehicles.
