The Book of Monsters

The Book of Monsters is a continuing recorded volume of the monsters and strange creatures of the Room, a catalog of the origins, history, facts, biology, and more of any creature and species in the Room, written by sages and scribes who venture out to discover the mysteries of Moorod. The book began as a simple guide to educate and train soldiers against threats, but has evolved to be continual adapted, edited and updated, as scribes diligently add onto the great piece of work, updating old files or adding new ones, based off of dissections, eye witness report, magical examination, and even legends and myths.

Purpose

The Book of Monsters purpose is to provide a detailed and accurate examination and explanation of the monsters and creatures of Moorod, to present as many known facts and data about each creatures, and particularly, how to combat it/them.

Document Structure

Clauses

The book is divided into various sections, each about one creature or monster. These sections can be pages long or barely a paragraph, depending on what is known about the creature and how much data has been collected and recorded.

Publication Status

The book is accessible to all, and many families have at least one copy of the book. However, the scribes of the Halls of Writing contain the original, and are constantly updating and creating new editions.

Historical Details

History

The Book of Monsters was is believed to have first begun by Thrandi Carja centuries ago, who sought to catalog the monsters of the Scour Fields and the Room, in order to better know how to combat them. His work continued on as more scholars and scribes added and edited his works, and the book became a staple part of literature in Nephinal.

Public Reaction

The Book of Monsters quickly became a stable part of Nephinali life, as it provided informative tips on the diverse monsters of the Room, and how to survive against them, and was eagerly accepted by the populous of Nephinal. In addition, it served to entertain many citizens, and has frequently become used to tell stories of morals.
