Montyn

Montyn is a world comprised of magic. The environment, landscapes, even the creatures, are made of magic. The residence in my world are a variety of people. ranging from regular humans, to anthropomorphic animals, called Anifail, and a very common kind of species is a Hanner, which is a person who is half-human, half-Anifail. A rare species of Hanner is a person who can switch between being full human, full Anifail, or a normal Hanner. Common Anifails are dogs, cats, foxes, rabbits, birds, mice, wolves, tigers, lions, lizards, snakes, fish, sharks, whales, and dolphins. Many others fall into different categories, and nobody has ever seen an insect Anifail. A very, very rare Anifail is a dragon, who are normally seen as elite or royalty, or seen even to the extent of gods.   The environment is mostly modern, but there are spots where citizens live in deserts, swamplands, forests, and plenty more. Humans made small towns in the modern, city areas, and the Anifails would more likely live wildly in an environment that fit their species, such as foxes in forests, tigers in jungles, lions in deserts, and lizards in swamplands. Dragons would live on the highest points of the scattered mountains, far away from civilization. However wild the Anifails would live, they still lived like normal humans, albeit with less clothing and more hunting. They were far from primitive and the humans understand this and help them if they need it.   Many species have a specific type of magic they are proficient in. Not that they couldn't learn other magic, their species are just more expertly trained in the magic useful to them. Canines and birds use air magic, felines and rodents use fire magic, reptiles and amphibians use earth magic, and aquatic Anifails use water magic. Dragons are easily proficient in all kinds of magic by birth, and humans are limited to basic magic spells.   They all live in harmony, but a thousand years ago, a large rip in the dimensional curtain appeared, allowing evil spirits to flow into the land. Many of them possessed the creatures or merged with them, creating monsters. However, very very few sentient citizens were possessed, so in order to prevent this from happening, the King had made an academy of sorts, many branches spread across the land, training students in the art of exorcism and demon slaying. Many of these students were no younger than 13, as even these people could imagine that such young children wouldn't be able to handle battles such as this. Not only would they learn to kill demons and spirits, they would also learn how to remove them painlessly from those who were not fully possessed yet, such as someone's parent who became possessed but had not lost control, or changed in form.
