Summer Camp 2024 Prep
Week one
Tags / Categories
I've come up with a tagging structure for the world - since one did not exist before.
The Angels with have a generic tag, as well as a named tag for them specifically : Abdiel, Zachariel, Rahatiel, Nathaniel, Usiel, Kasbiel, Seraphiel - then the monsters will have a generic tag then given the extra of Addict if they're attached to an angel.
Templars will get their own.
Warren for the brothers. Storm for the monster brothers.
Carnival for Dorian and co.
Prose for anything that contains a story snippet. Then Atlas for anything map related and Reference for anything that contains general information.
Change
I'm not looking to introduce a major change to what I already have for Monstrous Addicts - though there is a large change coming in general to the setting through the story of the Angels. While demons have been an ever present threat to the world, I'll be adding Eldritch entities as a new existential threat for them to face and fight. Like the demons, this will be a unique threat that only the angels can truly deal with. Demons, as otherworldly, can have their physical body destroyed but remain in the world until they are banished by the presence and effort of an angel. For the angel, I'm thinking that I might make them toxic to the eldritch. So rather than the angels being something the eldritch wants to consume - as everything else wants to - they simply want to kill them and work with the other monsters and demons to make that happen. The angels will be their 'silver'.

Refuge
“Who am I, when I am not surrounded by the walls of my life? When they have all fallen into dust and rubble?”- Lois McMaster Bujold, Paladin of Souls
Week Two
Refuge
This is a lot easier to speak on in my world than change - I could make the arguement that the monsters become the angel's refuge. It's where the angels are the safest even when they are surrounded by some of the craziest, meanest things that I can make up. That's sort of the point, though. Giving a less murder-y side to things that would otherwise kill. Softening and taming them, in a round-about-way and making them safe havens. Even if they otherwise wouldn't be. It's a theme or aspect of monster characters that I've enjoyed before, so I thought I'd write about it and ended up creating an entire setting based on the premise. It isn't restricted to the angels, either. Sebastian becomes Kaimbe's exception. Alto doesn't want to eat Jeremy, but falls rather hard for the stoic, responsible human. Even Samuel, a very old dragon who generally has no interest in mortal affairs, finds himself a family with the bouncy blonde Miranda.Styling
I've already fussed pretty hard with the css of Monstrous Addicts and while I have limited computer access for the moment, I'm not likely to do too much tinkering in the meantime. I'm pretty happy with how it looks anyway. I may try to find some sort of uniformity across the various articles in how they are laid out but that'll depend on how I end up writing the prompts and the type of contents.Week Three
Belief
For Monstrous Addicts, I compile and combine beliefs from all over the world. Mashing myths, legends, and my own interpretations of them into the sort of monstrous character I want to make for the setting. I like delving into religions, stories, and histories all over for inspiration. I tend to be fast and loose with these interpretations, erring on the side of what I want for the character over what might be considered accurate.
Meta
Updated the Meta with some pictures, book references, and added the music. I need to find some more things to read to get me into the spirit of it, though. Fire and Brimstone Scrolls makes my heart hurt.

Decay
This particular theme meshes rather well with the over-arching story for Monstrous Addicts. At least, in regard to the Angels. I’ve introduced the otherworldly element of the Eldritch. A sort of horror beyond our world. Alien and unknowable. The initial ‘evil’ is demonic – the consumption and corruption of human souls. For this, it’s a destruction and decay of the world. There’s no desire to rule anything, no will to take the world for its own. Just to ruin it and move on.A Touch of Updates
HomepageMight need to touch that up a little. Review the contents.
Intro? Author Page?
Yeah, don’t have any of that. So I’ll see about creating them. Poke around for some inspiration on set up.
