Twilae Bears Species in Mohn | World Anvil

Twilae Bears (Twy-lay bear)

For the last five hundred years, the polar glacial cap has been slowly expanding as a new ice age is dawning on the planet of Mohn. Many years ago, the world Republics of Mohn decided enough meddling in the ecosystem was allowed to happen one thousand years before and they had no right to interfere with the natural processes of the planet. Since then, governments have slowly been moving peoples living in the southern and northern hemispheres either towards the equator or off-world to a colony.    One species refuses to leave: the twilae bear. The twilae bear is a massive bear species living in what's left of their homeland ranging widely in the northern poles. These bears have learned the art of camouflage. Their fur refracts light in a polychromatic fashion, and they've learned how to blend into every setting.    The Twilae bears, if there is such a person, are led by Victor Claw and he is the mayor of the largest city remaining in the north, Tiimisi. He is their approved spokesman as well as the other northern species who see him as a leader.   Twilae bears walk on two feet or four depending on their needs. They can sprint at 30km/h over short distances when in their natural four paws on the ground stance. Because they are built for the arctic, they detest wearing clothes and will wear only short pants in public unless in formal situations. As a rule, this practice isn't unusual. Most taiga based creatures all act the same.     Twilae bears fur seems to glow in the dark, as it diffracts even the smallest sources of light and in the light, they can either choose to be invisible or shine as bright as the sun. Many years of breeding and adaptations have allowed the bears to control how their fur moves and diffracts light.
