Chickens Species in Mohn | World Anvil

Chickens

Chickens come in many different subspecies and colors. Chicken anatomy has changed over the eons. When you think of a chicken, you think about a plump feathered bird, kinda dim and clumsy fliers. On the planet of Mohn, chickens have developed actual hands, and their feather colors have remained the same and far more useful than wings. Their arms are covered in Downey fluff as well as their natural feathers which grow a little longer on the back of their palms. The chicken's general shape hasn't changed, though their sizes increased from about a foot tall to about 4-5 feet tall since the Great Awakening. They still have tails and a comb on their heads, both fashionionable and sexually alluring. Most fashionable chickens place their Sumni Rings in their combs so they can jangle like tambourines for all to see their status in society.   Chickens are intelligent sentient species on the planet of Mohn. Most of the chicken population is sentient while a few remain in their natural states. They are much taller and larger than those found on earth, some standing as high as 2 m tall. Their hands have evolved from their wings and they have lost their power of flight. Many fashionable chickens let their feathers on their hands grow long, Chickee Jones cuts hers off with scissors for a non-flattering jagged look.   As a rule, chickens and rabbits do not get along due to their past histories. Of course, that's not always the case depending on the situation, the rabbits tend to be greedy, power-loving, and exploitative while chickens can't say they don't crave power, but they managed to be more rational creatures and think of others before themselves. Chickens crave power as well, but their thoughts are more bent on the common good of the world and not themselves that's why they make the best diplomats. Chickens function pretty well at anything with an intellectual bent.   Chickens best serve the Republic as thinkers or diplomats, though they can be found in any corner of life.
