Modern Magic

A Fantasy Kitchen Sink world of magic, witches, warlocks, vampires, shape shifters, and all manner of other creatures and beings, partially unmasked and set twenty minutes in the future. The orginal idea was simply for a series of interconnected novellas about a roving band of independent contractors known as the Pack, working mainly for Circle Midnight -the organization keeping up the Masquerade as part of a Benevolent Conspiracy- to keep both humanity and creaturekind safe from the true monsters among them.   But it's recently been expanded to include a couple of spin-off novels set in the same universe but featuring different casts of characters: one about a small town where the local vampires and shifters have to work together to track down and eliminate a group of man-eaters on their turf or face the consequences of breaking the Masquerade, the other about a normal human who gets caught up in the politics and intrigues of a family of witches after befriending the youngest daughter.
