Rail Canyon

Rail Canyon is a naturally made gorge on Farsouth Island. As its name implies, it is filled with a large number of grinding rails, installed hundreds of years ago by a group of unknown explorers. It is speculated that the rails were put in place to hang ropes from while descending rock faces. Nowadays, Rail Canyon is a theme park of sorts, attracting thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies from all over the world. When visiting the Canyon, certain safety measures have been put in place. At the edges of the canyon rim, there are fences, obviously preventing anyone from falling. There are five categories of grinding rails. From easiest to hardest they are: Simpleton, Easy, Intermediate, Hard, and Expert. The names of each category are pretty self-explanatory. Simpleton is for beginners, Easy is for people with very little experience, Intermediate is for those who have ground the rails before and are confident, Hard is for those who are sure they can grind with ease and complete safety, and Expert is for those who can do it without a doubt. At the entrance to the Canyon, on the West side of the island, is where the rails begin. Here, there are five stations; one for each difficulty. All participants must wear a harness, with a rope attached to a bar that hovers above the rails. When rail grinding, the bar and harness mechanism prevents falling. There are special shoes required for grinding. They are slightly bigger than the person's normal shoe size and have a deep divot on their undersides; perfect to fit a grinding rail. Once everything is set, let the grinding begin! The best method to keep up a good amount of speed all the while not losing balance is by holding your arms out to the side and slightly forward and behind your body, respectively. There are loop-de-loops and other cool structures for riders to have the time of their lives here at the Rail Canyon!
