The Nelandrean Flambeau
No one knew, back then. Rumors about the royal army and Kelyeran Glen Asturac going after the Cut-Throats were scarce and mocked. But when the white tower shone in green colors, people started wondering. What but an intervention of our prophet could possibly light the Flambeau? If Gérouns knew magic existed long before they met the Human mages, it was partly thanks to the Nelandrean Flambeau. Standing in one of the highest towers of the White Castle, the holy torch was only lit a few times during the géroun History.
Origins
Nelandra Aigleran brought the torch in the capital shortly after it was built. She later explained that she received it from Giraun himself at the same time he gave her mission, and was told to bring it to the new capital and to leave it somewhere everyone could see. As a divine artifact, no one was ever allowed nearby. The wing of the castle leading to the torch's tower is one of the most protected of the royal domain. Before her death, Nelandra warned thieves that touching any part of the Flambeau without explicit authorization from Kelyeran Asturac would lead in an immediate punishment from Giraun.Purpose
The Flambeau serves as a warning of possible changes in the world. Nelandra said that it would only light when some people are granted the ability to greatly impact the world. The strongest the possible impact, the strongest the flame would burn. She never told how people could gain such strength and why Giraun wanted them to know it. As an example, she said that the torch was lit from the beginning to the end of her fight in the Clans War. Gérouns see the Flambeau with both admiration and fear. Nelandra's vague explanations left her people uncertain about the "changes" nature.Cases
As far as Gérouns remember, the Flambeau was only lit three times. The first time was when Nelandra received it during the Clan War, the second time was when Kelyeran Asturac and the Royal Army went to capture the Cut-Throats, and the last time was when Humanity arrived at Irisport. However, the tower where the torch is placed is very high. Some people pointed at the fact that it may have been lit more than three times, but the fire may have not been strong enough for people to see. He's such a fucking lazy bastard that if he ever moves his fat ass and does something he might as well light the freaking Flambeau.

Fear nothing from the flames, as they are only here to tell us that someone could be promised to a greater future. If they will or will not embrace it and do what it takes is up to them. A farmer from Elyades might just be at the right place at the right moment, light the torch and yet missed the opportunity without even noticing. Or, he might as well do the unexpected and change everything without any of us noticing.
