Sterth "The Mad Accountant" Hassan

The trusting and the trustworthy are often called insane in Mythrite. The town chews through the optimistic, leaving bitter husks behind who'll think you're trying to poison them if you buy them a drink. On the other hand, the label of insanity is sometimes an accurate descriptor, and it fits Sterth Hassan like a glove. Mythrite's best accountant is a tall, dark-skinned man with long, unkempt hair but a well-trained physique. The first clue to Sterth's eccentricities is his home; a retrofitted sailboat docked in a reserved spot on the waterfront. The boat itself is nothing special, although it's well decorated, but the fact that Sterth hasn't left the boat for nearly 15 years adds a pervasive air of mystery. When asked, Sterth will just say he's "not sure whether he could get his land legs back after all this time."   Although he never steps foot on land, he is anything but reclusive. Few can claim to know him well, but every dockworker, sailor, and merchant's convoyman has at least heard of him. His reputation as an accountant, especially, is impeccable. He'll take work from anyone who needs it, but swears no allegiances to guild or black market, and always manages perfect returns. He is, as far as anyone can tell, trustworthy and harmless, and so both the regular sailors and the corrupt underground of the docks have been using him to circumvent The Wharfmaster's Office more and more.
