Trädvellir

Trädvellir is a forest province in the magical land of Mirydain. It is the largest forest in the country and the primary home of the Elves of Mirydain.

Geography

The forest of Trädvellir is the largest forest in Mirydain and one of the homes of the Elves. The land is mostly tree-covered plain and is watered by a branch of Abhainach, the Great River of Mirydain, from whose source all rivers in the land are patterned. The forest lies to the west of the lands of Men and is visible from all cardinal directions.

Fauna & Flora

Various plants and animals live the forest of Trädvellir. Deciduous trees make up most of the foliage with the Elves typically making their homes closer to the heart of the woodland. Healing plants such as elvenblatter, botesprig, and lilins grow in Trädvellir as well as flowers including roses, tulips, carnations, bluebells, lilies, and petunias. While the Elves are the people who inhabit this forest, animals such as squirrels, rabbits, and deer live in Trädvellir. Most cannot speak, but some are among the Talking Beasts of Mirydain. The animals of Trädvellir who are mostly Talking Beasts are wolves, bears, eagles, hawks, and owls. Talking lions are reputed to live in Trädvellir, but most dwell on the plains.

Natural Resources

The trees of the forests are the homes of the Elves. Most of them under the trunks of their tree homes while the Elven lords of Trädvellir live in Aspenshir, the city that stands in the forest canopy.
