High King of Mirydain

The High King of Mirydain is the title given to David McKay as High King over the free lands of the magical land of Mirydain.

Appointment

David McKay was crowned High King of Mirydain in accordance with the prophecy foretelling the Dark King's defeat.

Duties

As High King, David's duties involve serving the people as a wise and just king. He must protect his people from all that seek to harm them, magical or mortal, and he must acknowledge the High King-Above-the-Heavens.

Responsibilities

David is responsible for keeping the peace between his allies, protecting the people, and establishing just but fair laws. He is also responsible for having the laws enforced and dealing justice and mercy as is needed.

Benefits

As High King of the free lands of Mirydain, David has the highest degree of power in the land. He has the power to depose rulers who misuse their power, organize armies to protect the land and fight for his kingdom, and establish laws for his people.

David bears the magic sword Anrilas and the shield Dionurrain as High King. However, the sword responds only to the one who has the merit to be the king. As David had the merits that make a true king, the sword chose him.

David Mckay was declared High King of Mirydain after he and Ginny Langford defeated the Dark King's plan of conquest at Kailion Vale. He received the crown and fulfilled the prophecy foretelling the coming of the new kingdom in Mirydain.
