Ariana

Princess Ariana is a supporting character in the Tales of Mirydain literary series. She is a Mermaid and the fifth and youngest daughter of Nereos, the King of the Merpeople.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Ariana is a beautiful young Mermaid with soft, fair skin, bright blue eyes, and blonde hair flowing down her back. She has a slender build like three of her older sisters and a light green fish tail with smooth-edged fins.

Special abilities

Ariana's one magical ability is her singing voice, which is so beautiful that any man who hears it is smitten with romantic affection unless they have a strong will to resist suggestion, as Elves do.

Apparel & Accessories

Ariana wears no clothes as Merpeople have no real use for them under water, but she covers her breasts with lilac seashells. She wears a pearl necklace and wears a pink sea flower behind her left ear.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Ariana has only been to the surface of the sea recently, as her birthday is the fifth of May. However, her first visit to the surface has been a life-changing experience as she and her sisters were unable to go to behold the land for fear of the Dark King and his monster army. Now, Ariana is enamored with the life on land and has developed a friendship with David McKay and Ginny Langford.

Intellectual Characteristics

Ariana is not a very studious Mermaid as she thinks more of visiting the surface world with her sisters. However, one thing that she is interested in is music, for she has a beautiful voice and can sing sweeter than anyone else in her father's kingdom.
