Aranichs

Aranichs are a breed of creatures that inhabit the magical land of Mirydain. They are used by the Dark King of Malgrond as guards for his castle and are also used to punish those who fail to carry out his orders.

Biological Traits

Aranichs are giant spiders that are armed with a venomous bite that can kill within a few minutes. Females are typically larger than males, but males can be larger on rare occasions.

Genetics and Reproduction

Aranichs typically mate and then the female lays hundreds of eggs, spinning a silken sack around them for protection.

Growth Rate & Stages

Aranichs begin their lives as eggs and hatch within a month. They are at least a foot long at birth and reach three feet after a year. When they reach maturity at five years, they typically reach a length of six feet or more.

Ecology and Habitats

Aranichs frequent the hills near Malgrond, where they spin their webs to catch any poor creature unlucky enough to wander into their midst.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Aranichs are primarily carnivorous and will eat most creatures they encounter. They wrap their prey in their silk and then bite them, weakening them to the point where the Aranich can feed with little trouble.
