Reichswald
Warning!
The Reichswald is a location that exists in real life, but the World of Darkness Reichswald differs from that. It's geography may be the same, but the location is darker, more twisted. Naturally, the events taking place here are also darker and more twisted.

The Nuremberg Reichswald is a dense temperate forest in the east and southeast of the former Nuremberg City. It is home to several tribes of Werewolves. In the past this forest belonged to the election kings, which were roman-german kings before the pope crowned them as emperor. This made the forest directly imperial, even if the city council of Nuremberg managed it.
During medieval times the people in Nuremberg used the forest for honey production, coal production and some regions for sandstone mining. Beekeepers in that time had several exclusive rights to use the forest. The beekeepers had to pay the so called Honey Money to the city of Nuremberg.
Once you reach the eastern border of the former Nuremberg city, you'll have an impressive look at the Reichswald. High, dense trees cover the landscape there, even when some of them look strangely twisted and dried out. The trees dampen the light, even on the brightest day, and make the forest pretty uninviting for passengers.
When the sun sets, you can sometimes hear a strange, violent howling from there, followed by something that sounds like a screaming woman. Every once in a while some children play "do you dare" at the boundaries of the forest and enter the daunting twilight there. They usually come back, afraid, shivering and unable to speak about what they have seen.
Geography
Located in the south and east of Nuremberg, the forest stretches over 32,000 hectares of land (roughly 123.5 square miles). It covers several hills and former quarries, where the locals gathered the famous red sandstone of the region. Within the forest you can find several small lakes and ponds, which are deep. The populace calls some of them deadly, like the "Eisweiher" (Icy Pond).
Icy Pond
Over the last 400 years many people disappeared around the pond. While pragmatic people say, that they went into the pond and drown there, more mystic people think that there is something about this body of water.
The rumours spread when a group of soldiers roaming around the forest disappeared during the 30 year's war. They went into the forest to search for mushrooms or edible herbs and disappeared without a trace. Even their comrades searching for them at the next day, could not locate them. While some people say that these were deserters who had enough of war, it was not the only incident of that sort.
Over the course of the centuries over 100 people, most of them children or young men, disappeared from the forest or its boundaries. Especially around the Icy Pond there are always cases of people disappearing without a trace. The police usually does some searching, but doesn't find the missing persons, their corpses or their belongings.
