Becoming a Unicorn Knight

History

This tradition was created by the first Unicorn Knight, the Human Amanda Sage. She wanted to have a little celebration when a Unicorn choose their new knight. She saw this as a special occasion, a union between two souls. Amanda celebrated the second Knight by giving him a party that looked a lot like a human wedding ceremony.

Execution

The new Knight and his/her Unicorn need ton walk towards an archway made out of willow tree branches and decorated with flowers. Usually apple blossoms.

From opposed sides. The Knights are standing on the left side of the archway and the Unicorns on the right side. When they reach the archway the Knight needs to kneel for his/her Unicorn and say the sacred oath.

I will always be here, I will help you to overcome your fears. I will protect you, and you will protect me.

After that the Unicorn thatches his/her Knight with their horn. It is then that the Unicorn Knight gets their armor and sword.
After those words the Unicorn is going to stand with the other Unicorns and the Knight with the other knights.
The Knight is from that moment on a member of the Unicorns Knights and is allowed to train with them. Almost after the ceremony there is a banquet and some dancing.

Exception

There was only one exception being noted to this ritual. When the Unicorn Stardust asked the Human Brisca Dandolo as his Knight. They did it in secret and afterwards the war between Spegikho and Fantaseria was declared, so there was no time for the ritual to take place. The Captain of the Unicorns Knights Tybaut del Oeste has planned to have the ritual after the war.

Participants

The key roles of this ritual/ceremony falls on the Unicorn and his/her new Knight. It is seen as a great honor to be chosen as a Knight for a Unicorn. The ceremony can also take place without all the other Unicorns or Knights. It can without the food and dancing. But it can not take place without the new Knight and the Unicorn.

Observance

This ritual takes place when there is a new Unicorn Knight is chosen by the Unicorn. This often happens a year after the death of the Unicorns former Knight. Or when the Unicorn is old enough to choose a Knight.
