The Strikers

The Strikers are a cavalry unit in the army of the Principality of Clifia, the unit tends to operate seperatly from the main army.
In times of war the unit will be send behind the lines of the enemy to cause trouble and force the enemy to split their forces. During some of the Principalitys wars with its smaller neighbours to the east, the unit gained a reputation of leaving no survivors except one during their raids of the enemy villages.
During peacetime the unit is often used by Grand Prince Niko II to suppress provinces that are known for their defiance against Clifia. Sometimes the unit is also deployed to hunt Elfs.

Composition

Manpower

Consists of a core of 200 riders but on a mission its not uncommon for the unit to expand to around 500 riders.

Weaponry

The Strikers use axes that are almost as tall as a grown man, some riders will also use swords and shield, the shield mostly when the unit is tasked with harrasing the rear of the enemy army.

Vehicles

The unit is using some of the best horses in the Principality.

Structure

The units command structure differes from the majority of calvary units in the Clifian army by having a single person in command with the rest of the unit split into sections of 10-20 riders each lead by a trusted man chosen by the commander.

Tactics

The unit is used to raid the country side of the enemy and harrash the rear of the enemy army.

Logistical Support

When on missions the unit is going to live of the land by taking the resources that they might need by raiding villages.

Upkeep

The core unit of the Strikers are paid in a large piece of silver each month and are allowed to keep any valuables they raid from their victims.
