Local plage
The local plague is a name given to the plague that was present in Swanmeay at the time Azran and Ira made their way down south.
By the time the two left the village, there had not been reports of any plague deaths.
Transmission & Vectors
It was believed that the plague was transmitted by air, although that the locals could not rule out that it could spread through water was well but since no water sources were used by the village.
Causes
The cause of the plague was the rotting body of a green dragon that had by Azran's account and some of the locals that had seen the site, likely crashed from a low hight, although judging by the impact, it was likely still a hight that would kill human several times over.

Symptoms
The locals that the plage had infected would come down with symptoms of vomit and a high fever.
Treatment
While Ira and Azran were there, the sick were treated by being confined to a bed and would be feed soup containing medicinal herbs, and somebody had sent a messenger to the local healer located in the next village.
Prevention
When they arrived in the village, and were told about the plague going around led Ira and Azran to make a mask out of a piece of cloth with some herbs bundled up in it. Similar to the covers the locals were using.
To stop the spread of the sickness, Ira and Azran were sent by some locals who seemed to have taken charge of the situation to burn the dragon's body. To do this, a flask of an unknown liquid turned out to be highly flammable and easily caught onto the dragon's corpse.
