Ancient weapon from an ancient empire.

This ancient weapon stands as a lone artefact left over from the days of the Ancient Empire and is the biggest symbol of the monstrous ideas and ideology of that the empire embodied.
It said that with weapons like these, the empire could lay waste to entire cities that resisted their rule within minutes of releasing these walking hulks of metal. 
The main thing that scares both scholars and rulers alike is that it's unknown how many of these ancient artefacts are out there hidden in caves or standing on the bottom of swamps, scholars have not yet been able to determine if these weapons were a main part of the empires arsenal or if it was one of the last desperate attempts to prevent their empire from collapsing.
The artefact was found in an underground cave that became exposed to the surface again after a sinkhole opened up, showing the cave entrance and a few farmboys descended into the hole and cave where they found the artefact standing.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

So far, no one has been able to find out how the weapon works, although based on legends that describe the weapon in use, describe it as a big hulk of metal slowly walking on five legs of a sort with its arms doing most of the destruction.

The ancient weapon used to belong to the Ancient Empire before its collapse and it believed that a weapon like this was what made it possible for the empire to conquer the entirety of Mirateia.
