Altar for the gods

For the locals, the Altar for the gods has been part of the landscape for ages. 
Many altars like this can be found all over Mirateia, for many of them they are the last remains of long lost villages or temples. For many of them what god they were dedicated to having been lost to time. 
The myth around the altar tells that back in time the Ancient Empire prayed to other gods than those of the Starlighters Pantheon and this was the reason the gods sent The Emerald Comet to show that the Ancients had run out of time and their reign where coming to an end.
The Altar was destroyed when the rebellions and insurrections broke out all over the Ancient Empire reached this area and the angry mob destroyed it and it was left to decay and be overrun by nature when the events left the public conscious and the locals found the rubble they used it to constructs new homes for the local villages and it was only when all the rubbles were dragged off to be used other places that the locals found the altar that as the only intact construction left from the temple to the ancient gods.
Today the only visitors that still visit the altar is scholars and other people trying to learn more about the ancients and their beliefs, both for their knowledge but also to see if there are ways that the current age can avoid what happened to the old one.

Purpose / Function

When the altar was still in use as a place of worship the people of the Ancient empire would come to them at that time still intact temple to pray
