A letter from a princess

Because of Emperor Malthin II failed to tell Crown Princess Ira that he did not think that she should accept the arranged marriage between the Empire of Dercia and Grand Duchy of Ved but rather believed that she should find her way, it, therefore, ended with Ira deciding that she would not be part of it and took her friend and bodyguard Azran with her. When the news broke that the Crown princess was nowhere to be found Emperor Malthin II knew that she had run away and secretly decided that no big search would be started since he knew that the princess and her friend were more than able to take care of themself.

Purpose

She wrote the letter because she felt a need to tell her father why she decided to run away.

A letter from a princess

Dear father. You might already have guessed why I decided to run away.
I decided to do it because I could not live with the fact that if I had stayed it would likely have been decided for me to marry Prince Moncla against my wishes. I'm sorry for the trouble my disappearance likely has caused but at the time it seemed like the right decision to make so I took it.
For a long time I have also had the feeling that I wanted to see more of the world at my own pace and meet new people who are not boring diplomats and not waste my time with boring meetings, I know you will say that it's not going to be easier and that I one day will take over the throne and I know that, but that is also one of the reasons I wanted to go out and explore the world, Azran told me about how you felt on the personal level that I should find one to marry on my own and who knows I might do that during my travels, just like you met mom.
