The War of Bulls & Stallions - Part 6

Map Location #3.

‘Battle of the Rainbow Grass’ – Before the royalist forces can reach safe haven at Ennorren city, they are compelled to turn and organise a last defence. They choose good ground among the rolling, grassy hills. Despite their wise choice it doesn’t truly help as the enemies they face aren’t their distant relatives, as in battles from their history. The enemy comprises Fiends and even some Monstrous troops. The fighting lasts only two hours. King Tailaq, who it turns out has survived the collapse of the centre of Bygone, is brought to Thalen Trabberge who declares him a deceiver and unfit for the crown bestowed by the other Houses. Atop a war wagon, the last of the Ennorren kings is executed by Thalen’s own hand. He then brings the House leaders of Plaffory, Wulsh, Tear, and Maynor before the victorious troops at the wagon, telling them that may execute them as they wish. There are many who are moved to decry this as unnecessary. As the protests grow, Thalen Trabergge summons forward the Houses of Altra and Molnury. When they appear, Thalen announces that these are the two Houses that protested loudest earlier, so now they will demonstrate how to kill prisoners. When they hesitate, Thalen calls out that they are disloyal. Thalen's summoned Fiends fall on them tearing them apart.     Shocked into abject silence, the remaining Houses, victor and vanquished depart the field of battle in somber fashion. Even at this early stage, it is clear that the seeds for the eventual collapse of the Houselands have taken root. Many can see that the Trabberge House's leader must be stopped whatever the cost, even to the diminishment of the Houselands as a whole.     The Heralds note in their annals that this marks the end of the War of the Bulls & Stallions.
