The Age of Ennorren Overkings

Duke Salq was crowned King of Coaseth, with all ten of the other Houses swearing fealty.     While most patrimonies were relatively unchanged at this ceremony, House Cascil saw its holdings much expanded. The new king wanted to repay what he saw as a debt owed Cascil. The House had helped greatly in the initial battles for southern control which led to the groundswell of support for House Ennorren through the rest of the continent. House Trabberge suffered most from the boundaries being redrawn at this time. They sought Heraldic rulings on these legal disputes and the college sided with them based on historical precedent.     King Salq would not contemplate the Herald's request to realign the lands. For the years of his reign this did not matter. The Houses surrounding House Trabberge -- except perhaps House Tear which held an island -- had also seen their holdings reduced and they were less than impressed with House Trabberge’s alternate map which would have cost them at least a portion of what they had left. King Salq, in an attempt to mollify Trabberge, invested in the harbour facilities of House Trabberge’s city. King Salq also undertook the building of a new place of rulership and governance on an island. The island was renamed, High Seat. His coronation throne was transported there upon High Seat’s castle keep's completion. Upon his death years later, he was placed across from the island High Seat, atop a mainland spire mountain, then renamed Longseat. This would become the traditional, final resting place of all future rulers of the Houselands.     Within three generations of his passing, King Salq’s kingdom of Ennorren was faltering in its unity. Cascil’s 'second-in-command' position caused many issues, as did the simmering resentment of Trabberge and its sympathisers. The Ennorren banners of the bull were soon raised in defence of attacks along its borders from the united Houses of Cascil, Trabberge and other border Houses, Plaffory, Molnury, Acery and Wulsh. To make the rivalry complete -- and in utmost defiance official, they entreated the Heraldic college to proclaim them a device. So it was that these rival Houses rode under the banner of the horse. A new Age was begun, filled with bloodiest conflict.
