The Church of Alfic

This is the organization that leads the main religion of both Alfia and Asoin called Alficism.

Structure

The head of the church is the Archbishop. The Archbishop presides over the different sects of Alficism and all the problems within the church, from violent scuffles to economic mishaps, are taken up with them. Just under the Archbishop are the 4 Cardinals, representing the four corners of Alficism's outreach. They are also the orchestrators of the Azure Knights, the army of the Church of Alfic. Under the Cardinals are the Priests which are spread everywhere to head different churches around Asoin and Alfria. Under the priests are the monks which are in the Den of Deities where they tend to the shrines and help the Archbishop.

Culture

The Church of Alfic is an organization that is quite philanthropic and it always focuses on helping others while spreading the word of the gods of the Azure Realm. If someone is in need, the members of the inner church will go out of the way to help them.

Public Agenda

What is perceived by the world is that the agenda of the church is being a connection between the mortal elves, humans and other races as well as helping people through philanthropic acts.

Divine Origins

It originated when the scouts of the Kingdom of Alfrind saw the gods overlooking Selvisi bay. They were terrified yet curious so they went up to them and the rest is a story for another article.

Cosmological Views

The world was created slowly with each god contributing as they started to be created.

Tenets of Faith

The art of charity, the art of good health, the art of hard work, and the art of love(familial, platonic, and romantic).

Worship

Believers of Alficism go to churches where they pray to the gods. Each month, there is a patron god that takes authority to pray for but typically all the gods are prayed to in a 2 hour session each Oxmos morning. Some especially devout believers, such as monks, pray at the shrines of the Den of Deities.

Priesthood

The Archbishop guides this religion. The archbishop is chosen from the priesthood or one of the 4 cardinals, but they need to have the ability to communicate with the gods.

Granted Divine Powers

Divine powers differs from other magic because it channels the gods' energy but it isn't necessarily light or dark or any of the other gods' powers. This attribute makes it so that divine magic is quite powerful.

Political Influence & Intrigue

It affects a lot of the houses of Alfia since they tend to be devout believers, except House Wynran. While it doesn't look like it since they tend to stay neutral, they have a lot of power. In Asoin, literally just due to distance, the church has less power in the government, but its fingerprint is very much so on the glass.

Sects

The two sects are the Central Church and Clarvoyism. The Central Church is the main one and follows the original way. Clarvoyism focuses a little more on Esnir and the Scouts of Heaven with are said to be desended from Esnir himself. Scouts of heaven have the ability to look to the past, future, and quite far away.
