Andrew, upon finding out that David and Emily are dating, becomes overly jealous. Eventually, he challenges David to a fight to win Emily over. David refuses to fight back, and he ends up tiring himself out. The two's friendship has taken a huge hit, but eventually Andrew gets over it.

Eventually, Entity 303 gives up on trying to overcome David and abandons his mind, leaving David behind.
David is visited by a woman who had been a part of his dad's Star Squad. She claims to be a descendant of the Lurken, and was tasked with watching over Entity 303's tomb. She warns that with Entity 303 now free, David must do everything he can to stop him.
David, Natalia, and their father's fellow squad member work together to fight Entity 303. They are unable to defeat him, however they succeed in thwarting his plot to unleash devastation onto the Overworld. In the battle, David is brought to the brink of death.
After climbing the Tower of the Aether, David and co confront George. The Dark Knight uses the Altar of the Gods with the four Structure Blocks to create a new Command Block that he accidentally has transform him into an enderdragon. After a battle, George is defeated and Natalia uses the Command Block to restore David to his human form. The Tower of the Aether soon begins to collapse, and David uses Elytras to fly off, leaving Natalia behind.
No longer worried about his sister, David searches for Entity 303 on his own, determined to defeat the demon for good.
David meets with Entity 303 and tries again to put an end to him, however he is once again defeated and brought to the edge of death. He is soon rescued by passerbys.
David is hired by the Queen of Diamond Kingdom to go into the Nether and prevent the Piglin from declaring war against the Overworld.
While traveling the Nether, David is captured by Piglin and thrown into a prison cell inside a bastion. He encounters Satasha once again and the two decide to team up to break out. The two succeed and go their separate ways as Satasha rescues her fellow griefers while David continues on his mission.
David ends up making negotiations with the leader of the Piglin and peace is restored.
David encounters Lisra, a lorekeeper of the mysterious Sapia tribe, who reveals that she had been behind the tension between humans and the Piglin. David pursues her for several days until she brings him to the Sapia, where he is verified to be the hero of legend. She then guides him to the Grand Sword.
David enters the temple of the Patron and, after passing three trials of power, mind, and soul, proves himself worthy of the Grand Sword. He claims the blade and officially becomes the Hero of Legacy.
Armed with the weapon that is designed to cut through darkness, David searches for Entity 303 again.

Entity 303 disrupts a class of students performing tests on it, and one of the students happens to be Emily, as David appears to challenge the demon to a fight. With the Grand Sword, he is able to resist Entity 303's possession. David rescues Emily and other peers from being killed, causing Entity 303 get the upper hand on him. He is defeated and Entity 303 gains the Command Block, using it to teleport away as he abducts Natalia. Emily tags along with David and Donald as they go to rescue Natalia.
At the guidance of the Spectral Hero, David and co reach the Temple of Creation where Entity 303 has Natalia. They discover the demon's plan of using Natalia as a sacrifice in order to appease the god of the Void, Null. David confronts him, but is swiftly stopped and forced to watch as Entity 303 uses the Command Block to resurrect Null. Despite Entity 303's offer of a sacrifice, however, Null remains displeased at the demon for summoning it in a place it could not flee and launches an attack on him. Through the distraction, David breaks free of his prison and manages to stab Entity 303 through the back, instantly defeating the demon. Eager to spread chaos, Null used the Command Block to open a portal across time and entered it, while in pursuit by David and Emily. David ultimately succeeds in his mission and destroys Entity 303 and Null, the latter at the cost of his life. Emily uses the Command Block to return to their timeline.
Feeling remorse for what he had David go through in life, the Patron chooses to reuse coding from the last instant David was in their timeline to respawn him. This David is a clone of the original, with the exact same memories up until he went through time.
Feeling unsatisfied with being told that he had accomplished his mission by Emily and not remembering any of it, David is informed by Alex about a structure that possesses limitless knowledge. David decides to head for it in hopes of being able to reclaim his lost memories.
The trail has gone cold, and so David and Lisra head to an ancient temple believed to house a clue pointing to the Ender's Eye's whereabouts.
The Hunters catch up with David and Lisra and capture them. The two have to fight to earn their freedom.
Lisra learns that the Ender's Eye aims to resurrect Entity 303 at the peak of Mount Laust. Knowing that they won't be able to reach them without an army, David and Lisra plan.
David gathers many of his friends and allies to join him and Lisra for the assault on Mount Laust.
David and Lisra's forces begin to climb the mountain, facing heavy opposition from the Ender's Eye cult. David and Lisra team up to fight Duchess Iris and defeat her before confronting the fifth head of the cult, Aros. The two manage to overcome him, however, Aros succeeds in resurrecting Entity 303, who then betrays the Ender's Eye.
The enderdragon appears to challenge Entity 303. Entity 303 is weakened, but proves too strong for the enderdragon and David. In a desperate attempt to keep Entity 303 from killing David and the dragon, Lisra uses her power to weaken Entity 303 further, enabling David to fight the demon from atop the enderdragon and ultimately defeat him.
The enderdragon takes David into the source coding of the world, where he pulls Lisra's soul out of, bringing her back to life. Trouble happens, however, and as Lisra and David fall towards the surface of the Overworld, the Eternal Dragon appears to save them before disappearing.
Lisra follows up on her agreement with David to help him recover his memories. They begin searching for the ruins of the Lurken.
Lisra returns David's feelings for her and the two enter a romantic relationship.
They don't find out much, but do discover clues leading to more ruins.

After an unexpected encounter with a Warden, David is able to reach the Altar, where he is granted the memories of his journey across time. The soul of David of the past merges with the soul of David from the present, and he retains his physical condition from the past, losing his leg once again. Remembering the memories he had with Emily, he heads back to Stonewall Village to see her.
Right before Emily is about to move back to Red City with her aunt, David appears and reveals that he remembers them. Emily is overjoyed as he decides to go and live with her in Red City.

After some legality issues, David is finally able to build a ranch just outside of Red City. He calls it Stonefield Ranch and hires a couple ranch hands to help him take care of his animals.
As he and his partner relax at home, a knock on the door is followed by an attack from the Griefer Syndicate, in which David and Emily are both kidnapped and held hostage. Soon after, he discovers that the head of the Syndicate is none other than his childhood friend, Andrew, who had survived the Purge War.
Andrew uses the Command Block to gain powers. David gains powers as well, but refuses to fight Andrew, who uses his to torment him. David's refusal to fight back against his best friend causes Andrew to tire out and give up. Andrew decides to abandon the Syndicate, while David returns the Command Block to Red City and bring Emily back home.
After his journey across time gave him glimpses as to what the future holds, David now decides that he has to set the world up to persevere.
Nervous about what the future becomes, David heads out on a new journey to try and reconnect with his old master. He is accompanied by Donald.
David is captured by Jason, the son of Lucian. Jason plans to make David suffer for what he did to his father.
David reveals the true events that occurred the day that Lucian was captured by the Diamond military, informing Jason of his father's true nature. At the same time, Donald finds where David is being held and David talks Jason down. David offers to take Jason to where his mother is held, to which Jason accepts.
David brings Jason to the psychological ward that his mother has been held within ever since the Purge War ended. Astrid, the mother, is happy to see her son for the first time in so long and reveals that what David had said about Lucian had all been true. While in the psych ward, David discovers a patient named Soren that claimed to have been enslaved and forced to work for Lucian. David helps break Soren out of the facility in order to guide him to one of Lucian's old bases. David and Donald continue on journey with Soren.
After discovering one of Lucian's bases, David finds out that Lucian had found a way to respawn using respawn anchors from the Nether. Knowing this meant his return was inevitable, David's resolve to find his old master was strengthened. He now decides that defeating the enderdragon may be the way to do it.
David and his team reach the End and confront the Enderdragon. After an intense battle, Max falls to his tragic death, but Draco the enderdragon is defeated, although his life is spared by David, unable to strike down an old friend.
David enters the End portal leading back to the Overworld, but first has an encounter with the Patron, his old master's true self. David tries to learn how he can prepare the world for what the future held but is given unclear answers. The Patron vowed that his life would be fully up to himself and not the Patron. David returned to the Overworld with Donald, but noticed that Soren was gone, having returned to his home world. With his new knowledge, David heads back home.
While heading back home, David finds the village of Visinfeld-the very same village he had lived in while he had been trapped in his coma decades before. He also meets with Amy and Thomas, his former wife and son from within the dream world, although they have no memories of him. This leads to him questioning his whole perspective on what had happened. He continues to head back home.
David finally returns home after more than half a year since he first left.
After decades since they last saw each other, Natalia, who has become Queen of Diamond Kingdom, is overjoyed to see her younger brother alive. David is happy too, though he shares what he saw after he went through the portal through time to her, revealing Lucian's eventual rise to power. Knowing that he had to be stopped, David proposes the Order of the Stone, an order of knights who will act as the voice of the people to ward off oppressive governments and being ready to take action when Lucian does return. Queen Natalia accepts his proposal and allows him the funding and support he needs to create his order.
David meets up with Lisra, who is now the Loremaster of the Sapia. She had caught wind of him building an order of knights that would be the voice of the people. David offered her a place within the Order, though she turned him down as her place was among the Sapia. Lisra however did promise that the Sapia would be involved with the Order.
The Wither King rises and unleashes his army onto the Overworld. The Order of the Stone defends its cities as best it can, with David leading them. Training new Stone Knights is a long process, and the order is stretched thin.
David fights alongside others in a war against the Wither King Vathiros. He struggles with training his son to become a warrior. David meets with a truly exceptional warrior from an age long past named Nate, and the two search for Lisra and another Sapian sage from Nate's time who is in their world.
Various attack forces are launched against several of the Wither King's fortresses. David, Lisra, Nate, and Thalia all work together to take on the Wither King. In an intense battle, the Wither King is eventually destroyed.
David retires from the Order of the Stone and leaves primary control of it to his right-hand, after ensuring that his son, Julian, would gain a high rank once David died. He spends his time living in Stonefield Ranch, mostly content.
David decides to let his allay go free. Emma the allay is reluctant to leave him, so David requests that it watch over his descendants, which the allay accepts.
David, knowing that his time in the Overworld is nearing its end, decides to go on one last adventure with his own son in order to get him ready to wield the Grand Sword. Doing so angers Emily, who is tired of David not living with them in the present. Unable to change his mind, she and David are no longer unified. Julian goes with David on his adventure.
David and Julian journey to a spring hidden within a mangrove biome. They meet up with the Sapia and David meets with Lisra one last time and gains her permission to bathe in the spring. David and Julian perform a trial that shows how powerful courage can be against fear. They then bathe in the spring and continue on their journey.
David and Julian journey to a spring located in a field of flowers. They undergo one final trial that emphasizes how inspiring a hero can be to the people they protect. David and Julian bathe within the spring and David decides that Julian is ready to take his place as the new hero.
