Businesses

A large city like Yhorna is crowded with businesses enjoying the safety within the great walls. There is also plenty of coins to give business owners a reason to settle in this large city. What kind of establishments can be found in the stone city?

Valhalla Express

One of the most impressive businesses is Valhalla Express. It is a large guild for men and women of every craft to join when they are ready to make a name for themselves. A small courtyard decorated with a few statues depicting the giantess Yhorna and important guildmembers with the occasional market stand lies in front of the guilds big headquarter in Yhorna. It is an impressive building with two floors or four if you count the special offices in the vaulted ceiling, and the cellars. Upon the facade of the great stone buildings hangs great banners with the guilds logo on them. The lounge is filled with comfortable furniture and splendid carpets covering the stone floor leading up to the desk that is usually manned by Sam. Guild members tend to hang out in the lounge to chat with each other. The guild offers plenty of opportunities to do business or expand your craft and skill at the exchange of a modest fee and loyalty.   This guildhall is Valhalla Express' biggest outside of the mountain hold Uldiff where the guild originally was founded by the dwarf entrepreneur Skeggrik Fafnir. His son Grim, a white haired and bearded dwarf, is the chief of this hall. Grim himself is mostly known for his skills as a runesmith making destructive runeswords where his best "Eldklingan" is capable of sundering whole platoons. He warmly welcomes members to his elegant office when they seek his guidance or job opportunities from him, but is quick to show his disappointment or even anger when they fail at tasks.

Soap & Sons

It is a soap shop owned by the wood elf Io Everglade and her rambunctious twin sons Emi & Eni who no one can tell apart except for their mom. The store is located in central Yhorna at an offshoot from one of the big main streets. It smells strongly of flowers and has big windows as well as some stands with exotic herbs just outside of the shop. Inside the shop there hangs plenty of pots with sweet smelling plants from the ceiling as well as rows and shelves filled with soaps. Io has proudly had the shop for the last 60 years in Yhorna. They sell all kinds of soaps capable of cleaning up all possible stains you can imagine. Some soaps are even made to prank people or embarrass them, such as the itch soap they sell. It will make anyone itch relentlessly for hours on end after use. The soaps range in prices from just a few coppers to some silver coins, and the itch soap is particularly expensive at the cost of 5 gold a piece which is about as much as two exquisite dinners.

The Bronze Hedgehog

A small inn inside of Yhorna. It is in one of the quieter back alleys where the houses are densely packed. A small wooden sign hangs from its facade with a bronze coloured hedgehog cradling a pint, a sharp eyed fellow can spot a unique rune on the pint. The tavernkeep is an old halfling with a warm smile. His name is Farrin Bumbler and he wears mostly green clothes and walks around barefoot. He keeps little track of his patrons except for the fullness of their pints and plates. The inn has three rooms to spare for travellers and a dirt cellar where Farrin stores his food and drinks. The interior is decorated with wooden furniture, one pretty painting of a hedgehog and some pillows in the booths to sit on. The mellow lighting and the smell of the halflings' splendid cooking gives the inn a sense of calm. Tired workers and travelers come to this place for a rest.

Greg's

A small bar inside of Yhorna mostly known for selling a beer made from blessed water. The owner is a man known as Greg and is a human male in his mid thirties. He has a big black beard with a forgettable face, and wears a green apron. In the back there hangs a few holy symbols such as a Mjölner, and a raven necklace. There are only a couple of bar stools and two booths for patrons to sit at. The bar lies on the street close to Valhalla Express’ guildhall. He is a member and supplies them with his home brewed beer.
