Of Siclístei's Vengence and The War of Kings

Around the year 1,800, 2E, relations between the Elves and Dwarves began to change for the worse. In a meeting between Bothêl Gélryvil, Emperor of Iléndir, and Khurtraez the Fierce, High-King of Turvan-Jurltar, Bothêl and Khurdruck engaged in an arguement, leading to Bothêl calling Khurdruck, "Al vercil xorgaz cir," meaning, "Child of a goblin concubine." Khurtraez was enraged, and he drew his ax and threw it towards Bothêl, splitting his skull down the middle. This was witnessed by many Dwarven and Elven noblemen, as well as Bothêl's only son, Siclístei Gélryvil. Khurtraez and his guards and noblemen fought their way out of Duskfall and fled back to Dragonrock, where they rallied the Dwarven army to prepare for a war against the Elves.
The kingdom's of Iléndir and Yólthâr allied themselves in preparation to go to war with the Dwarves. Yolvímiz, Empress of Iléndir, being the daughter of King Gelénquen of Yólthâr, was able to persuade her father into assisting Iléndir. She said to him, "Oh father, good king of Greenmere, the Dwarves have insulted not only the the Elves of the North, but the Elves of the Trees as well! Khurtraez the Fierce has slaughtered my husband, whom I loved dearly, and has left your grandson in grief and distress! We mustn't allow a people such as the likes of the Dwarves go unpunished for a crime such as this. Let your warriors prepare themselves for the clashing of steel, for we all might rest easy after the Dwarves have been defeated." And so, hearing the plead of his daughter, King Gelénquen of Yólthâr sent aid to Iléndir. As for Siclístei, he had sworn vengeance upon Khurtraez for striking down his father, and would fight in the War of Kings, which would last over seven months.
Many of the battles that took place were in what would become northern Anúrendor and the southern border of Turvan-Jurltar. While the Dwarven forces were able to hold the Elves off for a long while, it proved fruitless in the end. The combined forces of the Elven kingdoms proved to be too powerful for the Dwarves. In the final battle of war, the Battle of Dragonrock, Siclístei Gélryvil road through the battlefield on a white steed. He came face to face with Khurtraez, and they began to duel. They combated each other for nearly an hour, until Siclístei slashed at Khurtraez so fiercly, his blade split through Khurtraez's shield. Siclístei here would behead Khurtraez, and mount his mead on a pike while he road on his horse for all to see. The war was over, and Siclístei would name his sword Difnísdeved, Shieldsplitter, and he would mount it above the Emperor's throne as the heirloom of their bloodline. This would sour relations between the Elves and Dwarves for many generations.
