Moonwatch

Cheer up! Yer fall'n. Nota bigun. Issa lon' jurny still, lesa yip!
— Ec'ri trying to encourage his traveling companion Est'l who really doesn't like mud.
Moonwatch is a language used primarily by Moon Dragons and adopted by Warborn, it consists of words tied together in a manner that other races find difficult to follow. This allows both a quick exchange of information as well as serves well in musical endeavors such as songs and poems.   For roleplaying purposes, you can adopt a speech pattern utilizing some of the words from below to imitate that the Midrastian speaks Moonwatch. For everything else not listed in vocabulary, follow these rules:
  • - Long words should be shortened, generally speaking, you shorten by either the first or last vowel: Dweller = Dwell'r | Understand = 'Nderstand
  • - If the word starts or ends with G or H and is at least 5 letters long, ignore that letter: Rutting = Ruttin' | Interesting = 'Nterestin'  | Horned = 'Orned
  • - Try combining short expressions together into a single word. Make sure that it is still understandable: Is a = Issa | At them = Attem | I do not know = Dunno
  • - It's easy to get a bit carried away, apply some personal judgment here, and ignore any of the previous rules if your shortened version can have two meanings: Howling /= 'Owlin' = Howlin'
