Nocturnal Gryphoness of horned owl appearance with a snow leopard lower half. Trained as Shaman of a former Roo's tribe, Maara was not very well known individual before joining the uprising lead by Falth.

History

Ever since her young age, she kept having dreams of holding a bright red and blue egg. Not knowing its meaning, she decided to become a Shaman to learn more about Dreamscape and learn how to interpret Dreams.

As cycles passed, she waited within the Roo's tribe and helped others as much as she could. During Ember Shattering on 13th Fertilan she was the only one that felt calm and helped soothe her panicking tribe. Not knowing what gave her the confidence to go out and explore, the young gryphoness found a shard of Ember and hid it within her satchel. It was only until Falth's appearance that she was explained what her red-blue rock is and what she can achieve with it.

Falth

Sensing that her fate was intertwined with Falth, Maara joined his quest, and the two became closely acquainted over the next few days. After their first successful battle, Maara volunteered to risk her life to deliver an ultimatum to the Air dragons. Despite Falth's protests, she took off and managed to evade all draconic patrols to reach the newly founded Telenth's reach. Once there, she made her presence known and enflamed by her dedication, she spoke out loud on behalf of her people.
Ages passed but not only were her people's homeland stolen by the Air dragons, they also kept stealing eggs and younglings from their parents. These are the two main demands levelled by Falth, the First Ember Wielder and Chosen One of the Gryphonkind:

• Cease all trade of gryphon eggs and release all captives trained as pets
• Retreat from the lands of gryphons you usurped. Though, you may keep the greatest settlements of Three Talon Peaks and Throth's mountain

The Return

The Advisor and Clawmistress of draconic forces Yriinth Tonitruum introduced herself and summarily refused all of the demands. Despite the protests of her forces, she allowed Maara to leave her camp and return back to Falth safely. However, on her way back, she was ambushed by a band of draconic Scouts. Despite the overwhelming odds, she somehow managed to escape - quoting that she felt a surge of power that embraced her wings and carried her forth.
Much to Maara's surprise, she was immediately elevated to the position of Third Clawmistress for her bravery by Falth. It was at this moment that she felt her heart stir for Falth, and in the days that followed, her dreams about the red-blue egg all but disappeared.

The Dispute

While her demands were unanswered, the mere act of defiance earned her praise and inspired troops. While she was no commander, she provided invaluable information by communing with spirits and Dreams of ancestors.
While Falth was the embodiment of the war, leader and hope incarnate thanks to his supernatural abilities, Maara approached everyone individually, calmed the survivors, visited the injured and eased the dying. As such, it was of little surprise when her unshakable calmness become infectious and a source of inspiration.

When Scrawl's raiders joined the Night Hawks, Maara was not in opposition, even though she disliked the idea of allowing pouchers and bandits into the flock. However, when Falth put forth the idea to nominate Scrawl as his second in command, her opinion on the matter was loudly heard. In spite of her protests, Falth would elevate him, citing the need for at least one gryphon knowledgeable about leading warriors into battles.
Since then, Maara and Scrawl were at odds with each other and internal conflicts within Night Hawks started to fester. Consequently, Maara's affections for her leader were slowly dissipating.
