Thorhólmur
Thorhólmur is the base of operation for relentless raiders of Jarl Hakk Thorwald. The Thorwald's story begins centuries ago when Thor blessed their ancestral father with the ability to control the storm over the seas. Now they rule over a small island and are best known for their fast ships and raiders.
Demographics
Thorhólmur has a healthy influx of different races and ethnicity, a result of adventurers dying while out on a raid. While the majority of Thorhólmur still exists of humans, there's no telling what exotic races which may be brought back from a foreign raid.
Government
Earl Hakk settles disputes as he seems fit. Sometime by hosting a public forum, sometimes through trial by combat and sometimes he simply 'handles' it himself.
Defences
The island has a few large ballista, making it hard to assault. Furthermore, the fleet of raiders make it a less then ideal target for anything else than a warlord.

Industry & Trade
They usually sell off whatever they don't want by traveling to other areas, they do not care for hosting guests as they want to enjoy a peaceful life in-between raids.
Infrastructure
Thorhólmur has a few renown shipyards who work around the clock trying to make sure the fleet is at peak condition. Recently, they discovered a new type of boat know to be extraordinary fast.

Navy, shipwrights, warriors, culture & more gold than they can reasonably spend.
Guilds and Factions
FRTC (Four Races Trading Company) commonly purchases raid-hoards on bulk from Jarl Hakk. The Asgard Federation also has a moderate guild house close to the docks.
History
Thorhólmur was founded by the Thorwald family on the 421st Year of the Vanir (roughly 400 years ago). At first, Thorwalds fled to this Island when their divine heritage was deemed a lie by contemporary rulers. Originally, the Thorwald navy simply fended off attackers but after their initial success at sea their prowess spread rumors faster than a seer at a carnival. Some people still claim that they're simply good seamen while others claim that they've seen the sea bow to their very will in the midst of the thickest storm.
Architecture
Beautiful and affluent Norse houses rise up like towers on this rocky island, clearly the work of skilled carpenters and woodworkers.
Geography
Rocky and barren island. Known for it's two runed caverns, fabled to be a place of attunement to the Aesir.
