Cypress Pelinal, the Grown Battleship

The Cypress Pelinal is a ship that was created with Anaxagoras in charge of its design as a part of the terms of a work in progress peace treaty between the Redwood and the Feyfolk Glade, mediated by the Unfallen Lunabraxes of Koyasil.
The construction of the Cypress Pelinal is one that is atypical and unheard of to most of the world, existing only in legends of the Redwood; it wasn't built, but grown into shape. Its construct is entirely out of still-living wood and composite biological matter, while containing no metal whatsoever. Pelinal is "fed" through a softer, bouyant, spongy lower layer that sits in the water with weeds and ivy growing on the underside. This section of the hull has the uncanny ability to filter salt from the water and, not only produce clean drinking water in the ship, but extract and contain the salt as well.
In addition to being a fabrication of unfathomable ecological mastery, Pelinal has been designed to function as a ship to hunt sea monsters. The natural formation of the ship begets a design that is sturdy in and of itself, able to withstand outside pressures such as a tight grip of a kraken. And should the Pelinal be wrangled in such a fashion, "nerves" tell the ship's "heart" to turn the hull to eject a slurry of thorny brambles.
Lunabraxes objects to such designs on a ship of Unfallen construction, especially one made as a gift. Anaxagoras, wise in the ways of warriors, retorts that "violence provides an outlet, and purpose. There will be a time when the creatures of the sea will know Harmony. Not today."
Above all else, the Cypress Pelinal is a showcase of the bioengineering powerhouse that is Koyasil and a presentation of the potential future of materials in the Redwood should the peace treaty go underway.
