You can instantly move as far as 10 miles. This is considered a move rather than an action. You can teleport through solid objects, but not through force fields. You can automatically reach places you know or can see. If you try teleporting to an unfamiliar location you can’t see, roll two dice. A result of 6 or lower means your shock knocks you unconscious, and the Power fails because you attempted to teleport into a solid object and the for the rest of the scene unless you spend 1 point of Resolve. This power can function by opening a portal that others can use.

You can see things at distant locations as if you were there. If the location is somehow shielded from you, you have to make a Willpower roll against the shielding rank to use this Power. You can even peer into other dimensions by making a Superhuman (6) Willpower roll. Although you normally observe locations, you can instead focus on a specific person or object. To do this, you must be familiar with the subject or have some meaningful item or fetish that connects you to it. This won’t tell you where that subject is actually located unless something you see gives that away

You can shoot through open portals and you can also use this power as an active defense to block incoming attacks by putting a portal in the way.

Flaws

Blind

You are blind. Clairvoyance negates this, but if powers are ever blocked you would become completely blind. This is a persistent Flaw that grants you 1 extra point of Resolve at the start of every issue.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

A very lean body, but not much fat on it. Can run pretty far, but isn't the fastest on foot. Fairly agile.

Brown spot approximately 2" in diameter on the left forearm.

Facial Features

High cheekbones, pointed face. Long shaped face. No protruding brow. Somewhat bushy eyebrows. Wide smile with nearly perfect white teeth.

Identifying Characteristics

Birthmark on left forearm. Almost always carrying a Field Notes notebook that has been worn to bits.

Hands are constantly moving. Tapping, rapping, etc.

Special abilities

Teleportation up to 10 miles away. Clairvoyant sight up to 10 miles away.

Apparel & Accessories

A mixture of casual/modern menswear (bomber jackets, minimalist leather shoes, Chelsea boots) and nicer things (three piece tweed suits, wingtip dress shoes, turtleneck sweaters). He wears darker colors to blend in better, and can also usually be seen sporting dark sunglasses and a hat. He does all of this despite not being able to see in the normal way that humans do. This also is why he chooses to wear clothes with lots of texture, as his sense of touch dominates when it comes to clothing choices.

Personal history

Desmond was born in Franklin, TN. He grew up in a somewhat well-to-do household, but he wasn't really spoiled as a child. He was taught to work hard, and with a mom who is a creative writer and a lawyer father, his talents ranged from passionate writing skills to a staunch belief in standing up for what is right. He related heavily to Captain America's ideals, but was always more outgoing and vocal than him. More like Iron Man in that regard.

For high school, he attended Franklin High School. Once graduated, he attended Belmont, and then graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. While in school, he was a lead reporter for the Belmont Vision. After graduating, he interned at the Tennessean for a few years before being offered a job as a full-fledged reporter and photo journalist.

Employed as a photo journalist for The Tennessean.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Once completed a capstone project in 3 hours, fueled by 3 Red Bull's and intense concentration. Won his high school's talent show 2 years in a row with a magic trick show, using feats such as walking into one door and immediately walking out of another door across the auditorium, and predicting the cards that were in the hands of random audience members.

Failures & Embarrassments

Had to have embarrassing head gear with his braces and thick glasses until he realized the beauty of contact lenses.
