Volniy City

Welcome to Volniy City, Capital of Volniy, the state at the Volniymorn, center of the Mesonomornia Archipelago.

The city stretches from the seashore to kilometres of constructed urban streets and buildings, well into the island. The city folk are of all sorts and races, all sorts of colours of Humanoids, High and Eladrin Elves, Halflings, Dragonborn, and a minority district of Dwarves and Gnomes. One could also see what would seem as packs of Tabaxi and Leonin people at various districts of the city. If one looks perceptively, occasionally a Triton would pass by, and small settlements could be found near the shores and ports of the city.

The city follows the rule of the military alongside a parliament mixed with the nobility.
As in any big city, people seem to be of varying social classes, mostly aligned with the districts' layout and infrastructure. Mostly race is of no value to how well off one is, as there are rich folk of any race and poor beggars as well, though the Gnomes and Dwarves seem to have it worst, and the Elves and Dragonborn seem to have it best.
The city is host to many guilds and organizations of all sorts, goals and duties. Schools of fighting, martial arts, magic and wizardry, and the various military academies and technological universities span the city. The merchants are trading in all kinds of goods and items, and seem to be prospering from the status of the city and its port.

Demographics

The majority of the city is home to Dragonborn and High Elves. Humans came to the island and city later and have integrated quickly.
As the rule and territory of Volniy grew, different people have migrated into and from the city, making a very cosmopolitan and diverse city.
Halflings, Gnomes and the feline races have also begun to populate the city. As Karlikisma was the last place to come under the influence of Volniy, the most recent migration is of Dwarves and Deep Gnomes.

Government

The governmental structure of the Volniyan Empire and Volniy City is composed of nobility and parliament that form a joint legislative body, and the military acting as the executive body.
The nobility is composed of 2 noble organizations. One is the Royaldom, a secretive to the general public and exclusive. The other is the Grafdom, a public and inclusive to new members. The Grafdom and selected people, in addition to selected Tritons, are the only ones allowed to know who are the Royaldom, and the Grafdom is the mediating body between the parliament and Royaldom, and act as representatives of the Royaldom in the Volniyan parliament.

History

The first founders of Volniy and Volniy City were the Dragonborn, bringing their knowledge and thought to the region and particularly to Volniymorn.
