The Mythic Empire

Structure

The Mythic Empire was lead by the Emperor who was believed to be a descendant of the first Aasimar and divinely appointed to the position. Each province of the Empire was controlled by a head of state that answered directly to the empire. Territories were generally allowed their own autonomy as long as they ultimately paid tribute to the Aasimar.

Public Agenda

The Aasimar believed themselves to be the children of the divine and thus the rightful rulers of Merkia. However, they had no interest in destroying other cultures as they saw these people as the creations of their gods and thus had a right to exist, as long as they gave the proper tributes to the Aasimar.

History

As the Aasimar were one of the oldest races in Merkia it is widely believed that there empire was the first true civilization. over several years they expanded until the controlled all of the known world. They eventually were destroyed by the fiendish invasion known as the Great Incursions that saw the Old Gods leave Merkia.

Territories

The Aasimar originated from the area now known as The Desolated West. They rapidly spread their influence and at the height of its power, the Mythic Empire controlled all of Merkia. Some scholars even believe they controlled lands far to the south and the east that have now been lost, destroyed in the Great Incursions much like The Desolated West.

Technological Level

The Mythic Empire was the most advanced civilization to ever exist in Merkia due to their innate talents and extensive understanding of magic. Much of their creations were powered in some form through Arcana Crystal, with the knowledge of how lost to time.

Religion

The Mythic Empire worshipped the Old Gods, who were still present on Merkia at the time. These immensely powerful beings oversaw much of the Empire, such as aiding in the construction of wonderous buildings, revealing great secrets of the cosmos to the aasimar, to defending the empire during The Great Incursions.
